SORRY I HAVE BEEN MIA.....

I can not believe that it has been this long. Things have been so crazy, so glad that school is finished. The last couple of weeks of school were very crazy, Friday May 15 was our last day and had work day on Monday, then Tuesday the next life started. I am watching between 5-6 kiddos a day. Life around the Sanchez's is very busy. Sunday, May 31 I ended up at Women's Hospital thinking that I was in premature labor, well needless to say.... I had a kidney stone. For those of you who have not suffered with one, let me just say that they are painful and don't think that you are out of the loop because there is a first time for everything. That was my first and I can only pray that it will be my last!!!! Then Sunday June 4, I had to take Averi into the doctor because she was having trouble catching her breath and wheezing very bad. We saw Dr. Ronnie, and got two shots, round of breathing treatments, and two antibiotics. Went back in on Monday and received another round of shots. For dinner Monday night, Poppie, Nonnie, Averi and I headed to Las Palmas for dinner. On our drive there Poppie decided to make the comment that he thinks that he messed up his arm, well needless to say the whole time during dinner he would cringe every time he moved it. Lake After Hours, here we come!!!!! We were told at first that he broke a bone next to his elbow. Tuesday, Nonnie was going in for back surgery to remove a nerve from a disc and to have some work done on that disc, well you see the luck we were having.......surgery was scheduled for 1:30p.m., then pushed back till 2:30 and then we were told that they were going to reschedule......in the middle of rescheduling the doctor showed up, ready to go. No one at the NeuroMedical Center had a clue that he was on his way. Surgery began at 4:40 p.m. Now mid you that Poppie was at the doctors office finding out what was going on with his arm. Nonnie was in surgery from 4:40 til 7:15, a very long wait, finally getting to see her at 8:30p.m. Poppie on the other hand was not doing to well, he was put into a hard cast, that is removable, technology that they have today is amazing....the cast is fit to his arm, but he can take it off only to bath, he broke his arm in two different places, a bone next to the elbow and a bone in the wrist. After long hours of waiting we were able to see Nonnie, doctor was very happy with the turn out of surgery, he stated that he did a lot of work to the nerve and to the disc itself and we would have to wait to see how mom felt in the morning to see if the surgery helped. He stated that we would see a difference if the surgery went like he thought it did in the morning. Once Nonnie got into the room, Averi and I kissed her and headed home, lets just say that I was very sick to my stomach. I don't like to see anyone like that when they come out of surgery. Poppie really wanted to stay with her, which was good with us being that she was out of surgery so late and figured that she would sleep through the night and they had a very good one. Her doctor came in at 6:15 Wednesday morning, with a grin from ear to ear wanting to know just how she felt...........................she had NO PAIN in her hip. Things went well for her that morning she so she was released after lunch. Nonnie is doing well, she is in a lot of pain from the surgery itself, but as far as the hip she still has no pain. WHAT A BLESSING!!! We are all so excited because we are going to have our old Nonnie back!!!!! Its such a hard thing to see two people that you love so much not able to do the things that they want to do, and seeing Poppie so upset with himself because of what happened, but you know what God has a plan for everything. God never gives us what we can not handle.

OUR LITTLE TROOPER

Well I must say that I have not been to good at catching my blog up. Please forgive me! Last Monday we brought Averi back to the doctor for a recheck from being in the After Hours Clinic on Sunday. Dr. Guidroz made the statement to us that we really needed to make a decision about putting tubes in Averi's ears. We told her that we needed to do what was best her Averi. So an appointment was schedule, well I say scheduled, we headed straight there after leaving Dr. Guidroz's office. Dr. Clement, ENT, saw us and told us that she needed to put tubes in asap and that we should consider taking her adenoids out also. Surgery was scheduled for Wednesday March 11 at 9:00a.m. All went very well. Dr. Clement told Brad, Poppie and I that her adenoids were posible causing some of her wheezing problems because of there size. So our lives continued after that........... Fever started Friday afternoon when I picked Averi up from her nap. She had fever 102.5 and all moms know what you would have started thinking....infection. Phone calls were made and Brad and I brought her in Saturday morning...please keep in mind that Baton Rouge Clinic electricity bill has been paid by us, being that we had been in there nine time in three weeks.....Dr. Bombet stated that her tubes looked well and that she has a fever virus. OMG!!!! are you kidding me was my first thought. Poor child can not stop catching virus. She has basically lived in a bubble for the last four months. NO MOTHERS DAY OUT! Dr. Bombet stated that I needed to bring her in Monday for a recheck and see how things were going. Brought her back in Monday after a weekend of fever arranging from 101.2 to 103.5, her fever started coming down Sunday, but still brought her in by doctors orders. All is well now, please please please continue to pray for healing in Averi's body. We are giving her whatever she wants to eat, being that she has lost weight again, all in all her spirits have remained good thru all the trails and errors that have been coming her way. I must say that she is a true trooper. I am very proud of her and I count my blessing being she has such a positive attitude thru everything.

I went to the doctor on Tuesday and everything looks well, adding on some pounds......we got to hear the heart beat and on our way for another month.

ANY ONE WANT TO JOIN......

a roller coaster ride..... Well that is what I fell like I have been on since November 2008. Lets just make this short and sweet....Averi started the wheezing on Thursday February 26. By Friday afternoon it was terrible, she was breathing really hard and just not being herself. Took her in Saturday morning and she had double ear infections and bronchitis.....she received a shot and a prescription. Well things did not get any better for our little trooper, called Doctor on Tuesday and a steroid was called out and told to call again on Thursday if not any better. Who can guess......went into the doctors office today and received a steroid shot and more breathing steroid treatments. Dr. Guidroz stated today that she has never seen a child so happy and with breathing so bad. I just keep thanking God for the angel that he has given to Brad and I because she has such a positive attitude through all that she has been through. Right now God is the one that can do the miracles that we need, if we take for off of the steroid breathing treatments then her breathing and her trying to breath would be a lot hard, but one of the side effects of being on the treatments is there is a possibility that it could lower her immune system. As far as the medications that she receives we have to watch what she receives because of the UTI infections with the stronger antibiotics. Please pray for Gods healing hands over Averi.

I have been to the Doctor for myself and found out that our due date is September 24, 2009. I am 11 weeks today. Feeling great, little tired at times but nothing to complain about......

ITS FEBRUARY ALREADY!!!!

Well January is past and gone and February is here. Not liking the way that its starting out, but I must say that God has a plan I we are going to keep going with it. Last Thursday Averi started throwing up, will not go into much detail because I don't want to make anyone sick, but lets just say that its was not a pleasant site. Telephoned the doctors office and you know what that meant....trip in to see what was going on. Oh let me just add, I did not just bring her in due to the throwing up, she had had messy diapers since Monday so I figured that there was something more going on. Well needless to say, Averi was weighted and she weighted in at 16 pounds 11 ounces.....she feel off the growth chart 3% in three months. Dr. Guidroz was not happy at all. She was on her was to being dehydrated. A hospital visit we went. We got to the hospital around 11:30 am and went through a list of things that was ordered. Several sticks for an IV and blood work. Finally got to our room that we were going to live in for several days around 1:30pm, with Nonnie arriving shortly after. We were supposed to see a Gastro Specialist Thursday afternoon, honestly don't know that truth to why we never did see one, however Dr. Alberti did come in Friday around 2:00pm and did a very detail exam on Averi. Once he was finished he left the room to go and take care of something and returned back with news that Averi has the Roto Virus. Well for those who have been following along with us for the last several 6-7 weeks now, Averi has been suffering with some kind of virus. We were released from the hospital on Monday afternoon around 5:30pm with instructions of not leaving the home!!!! Mommy nor Averi can leave the house. There are some test that are still being ran and we will see Dr. Alberti and Dr. Guidroz on Friday February 13 but until we are stuck. Dr. Guidroz wants to build Averi system back up and the only way that we can do that is for us to stay in the house.
Special thanks to Nonnie for taking time off of work to come and stay with us while Averi was in the hospital. Nonnie was super women!!!! I failed to mention that Brad and I caught the Roto Virus, there were times that I could not even pick my head up off the pillow, I felt so bad!!! Thanks Nonnie for ALL YOUR HELP!
We were not allowed to have visitors because of Averi being contagious, so thanks to everyone for all your phone calls, thoughts and prayers. We greatly appreciate them!!!

Please continue to pray for Averi's recovery!!!
