Christmas Eve 2008

Oh My GOODNESS I can not believe that it is Christmas. Things have been non-stop around here. Just a little quick update.......Averi is getting over RSV....yes that is right......on December 5, we went into see Dr. Guidroz for a terrible cough, well back we went on the 9th, 16th and on the 22nd. She basically started off with a terrible cough that turned into the wheezing and goggling and then the terrible breathing process. She lost a whole pound between December 9 - December 22. We are on two different breathing treatments every 6 hours and every 8 hours, and a cough syrup (that honestly doesn't even hardly help). Brad and I are very blessed with catching it in the early stages of it, because from what Dr. Guidroz told me on Monday its a very bad virus. She did tell me that if her breathing was not a slight different from what it was when we were in the week before she would have sent us straight to the hospital, but with all the prayers we are truly blessed because she is in the last stages of RSV. Dr. Guidroz stated that it runs its course for 3 to 4 weeks with nothing really you can do for it except breathing treatments. I am just so thankful that we are on the up ride of this virus..... because Nonnie and I have been planning something for several weeks now and I did notwant to have to cancel. More to come on that in a couple of days.....ITS A SURPRISE!!!!!!

After we played in the snow, she did not want to have anything to do with clothes, expect for the scarf and her hat.....

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

Where Oh Where Do I Begin......

Well I must start off by saying, "Sorry that I have not updated in a while." Things have been non-stop around the Sanchez's. Averi started off by getting sick the Friday before Thanksgiving, we were at school and Ms. Rebecca came in and stated I think that she has a little fever, well that was an under statement, fever alright, 102.5. We found a sub for my classand off we went to the doctors office. She had Laryngitis. Did not know that babies could get that, but they learn a lot when you have one. Dr. told us that it would have to run its course, 3-5 days of fever, well you moms out there know that there is nothing fun about that. Finally on Tuesday fever broke and then I started with the sickness and ended up losing my voice. Not a good situation at all. I just started getting my voice back this past weekend. In the middle of Averi and I being sick the computer crashes. I must admit that I went into a very big depression.....just thinking that I was going to loose everything. Not a good feeling at all. I prayed and prayed and prayed. After making many of phone calls, Brad found someone for a reasonable amount price, FYI... make a friend that knows computers and knows how to work on them. Very expensive to get someone out to look at your computer when its crashed. God did bless us and a very nice man can out and looked at it and got us back and running. The best thing about it was that I did not loose anything!
We had a great Thanksgiving, did not do to much, but had a very nice time spending it with our family. There is so much that Brad and I are so thankful for, the precious baby that GOD has given to us, and much, much more. I just want to shot out a HUGE thanks to Nonnie and Poppie for all that they have done for our family. God has truly blessed me with the two best parents. Thanks Mom and Dad for all that you do for us!
Hope that everyone is getting ready for Christmas.....can not even believe that it is two weeks away.......

FEAR FACTOR HERE WE COME

Well I have heard so many people say, "Your child will get a hold of some type of bug...." and I would tell myself NOT GOING TO HAPPEN to my child......

Yesterday morning, Daddy and Averi were playing on the carpet in the leaving room, Brad got up to get something and I was coming around the corner, looked over at Averi and she is going to town on something. I went straight over to see what it was and in my mind I was thinking it was a leaf because last week at school I was called out of my classroom because she was choking on one, well it was totally not what I had expected. It was some type of roach. I took off with her to the bathroom, to brush her teeth and get that mouth cleaned.....the whole time guess what Averi was doing....SCREAMING BECAUSE I TOOK THE ROACH.......can you imagine?

Monday night Poppie, Nonnie, Brad and I were in the leaving room playing with Averi and she took FIVE STEPS....here and there she has been taking a small step trying to get used to it, but these steps were the real thing. After she took them we all start clapping and she looked at us like we had lost our minds.

Last week I was offered a five day a week position at St. Andrew's. Very hard decision to make, after many of hours of praying and Brad and I talking about it I took the position. My aide that helped me MWF, took over my class and I moved across the hall. We are now in the process of trying to hire an aide for me. I am very happy to be doing what I have always wanted to do.

I took Averi to get the 2nd part of her flu shot yesterday, I asked the nurse to weigh her because usually they wait until the big check ups to get all the information on them. She is moving on up 17 pounds 3 ounces, of course I was so excited and someone stated, "Kelli she is going to be under 20 pounds at a year". I just look at it like this, she is eating, moving right along, and there is nothing stopping her or in her way, she is fine, just tiny. A year old.....can not talk about it right now, I have to go to work and I don't want to be depressed........TIME FLYS!

No News is Good News

Last week Dr. Guidroz and I played phone tag Thursday and Friday regarding Averi's bloodwork. I talked with her Monday morning and she explained to me that Averi's kidney function in good. The way that it works is anything over 60 is good and anything over 85 is excellent. Averi's stats are 72, which means in my eyes that is GREAT! Basically her UTI's were always caught in a timely manner. I am so proud of our little trooper.

Averi's friend Ireland, had surgery last Thursday and is on the road to a great recovery. I talked with Tracy yesterday and she stated that she gets fussy at times or moves that wrong way and gets upset, but God has totally given little Ireland the power and strenght to pull thru. All your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated! Please continue praying for a speedy and successful recovery!

The bed situation is going great. Averi slept until 8:30 both Saturday and Sunday morning, Monday morning it was like she knows that she has to go to school she was up at 7:30 ready to go.

Yesterday I went to SAM'S to get some baby food and this is what my little trooper did with the boxes:

All the way to the bathroom with it.........

Nonnie bought some pumkins to go in her front yard and Averi loves them....

LSU Tailgating Saturday:

Cousin Blaire

Averi received this walker/playstation when she was in the hospital from her Poppie and Nonnie, Brad broke it down to a walker for her, well the other day she decided that she wanted to play in it and this is what I found:

First Time For Everything...

Well tonight is the first night that Averi is sleeping in her room. I know its terrible. I just could not let go. Brad and I have been talking about making the move and I have been pushing it and pushing it. I am having a very hard time with putting her on the other side of the house. She has been sleeping at the foot of our bed for almost 10 months now in a pack-in-play and doing just wonderful with that. I know that it is time, but its such a huge move for me. Anyway we will see how tonight goes.

We went for blood work on Tuesday and waiting for the results. I will post as soon as I know something.

Please pray for Ireland, she is a friend of Averi's. God has truly blessed her and her family to come into our lives. Tomorrow she will have surgery on her kidney. Averi and Ireland are about a week part and have very similar conditions with there kidneys. Please keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayer over the next couple of days. Brad and I know the pressure that they are under right now. Keep your chin up Tracy and know that God is in totally control.

Just Could Not Do It......

Well we made it to the to Dr. Guidroz's office Friday afternoon and after Averi had to get catheterized and the urine running down mommy's leg and receiving the flu shot, I was about ready to scream. Now for those of you who have forgotten, I also am watching two other children ages 7 months and 4 years old. So you can only imagine what it was like with your own screaming child, 7 month old-Preston screaming because Averi was screaming, and 4 year old-Harper very upset because Averi had to get the flu shot and Mommy looking like she had just used the bathroom on herself. Oh and I forgot, I did not bring Averi's extra change of clothes in the doctors office with me because who would have thought that I would have needed them, well I was not thinking.....had to bring Averi out to the car in a diaper....weather being cooler on Friday plus a little shower here or there.......could only imagine what people were thinking....

So Averi and I are going to pick Nonnie up ( poor Nonnie she has to do all the bad stuff) tomorrow and headed for Women's Hospital for bloodwork. Dr. Guidroz stated that they are going to have to get blood for the middle of her arm....not going to be fun.

Busy...Busy...Busy

Averi went for her 9 1/2 month check up on Monday.

She weighs 16 pounds and .5 ounces which is in the 10%.
She is 26 3/4 inches tall which is in the 25%.

Doctor stated that she is fine, just little. We are going to have to go for some blood work, because Dr. Guidroz stated that Dr. Ortenburg fixed the blockage and she needs to get a blood count of the function of the kidney. We are going to have blood work done Friday along with a flu shot. What an afternoon.

Nonnie, Averi and I were in Matt and Ashley's Wedding this past weekend. I held Averi as she waved to everyone. She was so cute. I will post pictures as soon as I get them.

Things have been very busy around here for the last two weeks, I hope that they will slow down. I am not a late person at night, however I have been going to bed later than usually to get what has to be done, done. That is probably why I am so tired right now.

Averi is something else, she is growing so fast. Whenever I drop her off at school she doesn't look back, she goes to laughing and giggling. She loves it!!!! I had to sub yesterday, and honestly it is getting harder for me to leave her now then it has ever been, at my break I stopped by to say, "Hello" and she was waving to me and smiling from ear to ear. I turned around to leave and she did not say a word. She truly loves Mrs. Rebecca and Mrs. Missy. They are GREAT! I just can not believe that MY LITTLE TROOPER is 91/2 months.

Picture soon to come!

RESULTS......

Test were ran and Doctor was seen and we are blessed!!!!! Dr. Ortenburg is happy with the results from the surgery. Before the surgery Averi's left kidney took 25 minutes to drain and now it only takes 10 minutes to drain. There is a 4 minutes difference between the two kidneys, however results are great. Dr. Ortenburg stated that the left kidney will never run like the right one because there is damage from recurring UTI's. The damage is not a concern to him right now due to the fact that it is doing its job. We will go back in 6 months for another test to see how things are going with the left kidney. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers!

Our trip to Georgia was an experience that we will never be forgotten. To start off, everyone knows how I feel about flying. As you can see I made it thru, however I was about to have a break down when we were getting onto the plane in Charlotte, North Carolina. The plane was a 32 passenger plane and only had 9 rows on it. Of course, everyone was picking on me and making the situation worse than it already was. That plane made more noise than you can imagine. At one point I told my Dad that it was deathly ill ( if I only knew). We arrived into Augusta, GA. around 10:00 pm, and headed to Grandmas. Wednesday Grandma, Nonnie, Averi and I headed to get our hair done. That evening the bottom fell out.......... basically the stomach virus started. (I think that the plane started it) I was the first, and you know how that goes when you start something...... Nonnie and I had to go to my Nannie's shop, which has a doctor's office on one side, and get aPhenergan shot, went back home and I started again around 2:30 p.m., Nonnie thought that she was going to have to bring me to the ER, Nannie pulled thru and got a Paramedic to come to Grandma's house and put an IV in to get some fluids into our system. So Nonnie and I got some fluids around 6:00 p.m. Thursday Night. STAY AWAY FROM ANYONE WITH THIS.....ITS DEADLY....... My Aunt Lisa got it Friday, Tanner and Austin got it Saturday, Uncle Barry got it Sunday, Poppie got it Sunday Night, and Brad (mind you he did not even go) got it Tuesday. Everyone is ALMOST back to normal, Nonnie and I are still cramping up really bad, but nothing like before. Nonnie and I did get out for a little while Saturday afternoon, wearing our LSU gear and can I tell you the looks that we received pulling for the Tigers on the Bulldogs grounds. GO TIGERS!!!!!!! Grandma and Grandpa had a blast with Averi, she received so much loving!

******SPECIAL THANKS TO POPPIE AND NONNIE***************

We will be leaving tomorrow morning around 7:00 a.m. to head down to New Orleans, testing began at 10:00 a.m. Please pray for Averi that the surgery was a success and a true blessing from God. God has done such amazing things in our lives and has shown us such amazing miracles with our little trooper. We will see Dr. Ortenburg at 1:00 p.m. Please pray for our safetly tomorrow and a great report from the doctor. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. They are greatly appreciated.
