Dr. Ortenburg called yesterday with the test results from the test ran last week. Averi has 2 serious bacteria’s running through her little body, and Dr. Ortenburg asked that Kelli have Averi in New Orleans at the Children’s Hospital as soon as possible so they can start the IV for the antibiotics to fight the 2 bacteria’s. They had the IV specialist come in to try and give Averi her IV and they were unable to start the IV last night as hoped. They tried for about 4 hours to get an IV and decided to try again today. Once they get the IV in and start the meds Dr. Ortenburg is saying that the stay in the hospital will be about 7-10 days. They are hoping that once the meds are started that she will be healthy enough to have the stint removed on Friday.

Praying for little Averi and for strength for Kelli and Brad. I fondly (sarcasm) remember those days in the NICU and PICU with our little ones on 7-14 days of IV antibiotic. She will feel much better soon.
